Many people have taken to social media to curse out a former worker in the Prime Minister’s Residence who filed an abuse lawsuit against Sara Netanyahu, but they were venting their anger on the wrong woman.

Shira Raban, a mother of two who manages a gym in Beersheba, has received a stream of hate messages on social media after being mistaken for the other Shira Raban.

“Let’s reveal the lies of the left,” read a post Monday that showed a photo of the Beersheba Raban. “The one in the middle is Shira Raban who they said was a poor ultra-Orthodox woman. Now it turns out that she is an undercover reporter for Channel 10.”

מהבוקר אני מקבלת עשרות הודעות עם תמונה של חברתי הטובה Shira Raban שמקשרות אותה לבחורה שהתלוננה על שרה נתניהו. פשוט כי …

The image of Raban went viral on social media, opening the hate mail floodgates.

A friend of the Beersheba Raban posted on Facebook, “The responses, of course, were not long in coming, and without any preliminary examination, people cursed her endlessly, using crude and ugly words.”

According to the friend, Raban will file a complaint with police, but in the meantime she asked that people spread the truth.

Raban’s case recalls that of a man named George Papadopoulos, who received a lot of attention on social media two weeks ago by people who confused him with a former aide to US President Donald Trump who pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents about conversations he held with Russians prior to the elections.

“To all: I am NOT that George Papadopoulos. I am in Greece visiting my mother so today it has been kind of surreal to keep up with,” he tweeted.

To which Michael Bolton (not the singer) responded, “I feel your pain, brother.”
