An explosion occurred Wednesday in a parking lot in the northern coastal town of Nahariya, causing minor damage to a vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Police were investigating whether the vehicle was targeted by criminals.
Last week, a Molotov cocktail was hurled at the car of a former Nahariya mayoral candidate, setting the vehicle ablaze.
No one was hurt in the attack on Oren Saudai’s car, which was parked outside his home in the town at the time. The car suffered severe damage. Firefighters extinguished the flames and police opened an investigation into the incident.
Saudai, a local lawyer, campaigned earlier this year to become mayor of Nahariya, but lost to incumbent Jacky Sabag.
