A Hamas terror cell planning on carrying out attacks against Israeli targets was arrested in Hebron, Shin Bet security services announced Monday. The cell was nabbed through a joint IDF-Shin Bet security service operation, but officials did not say when.

The Palestinian terrorists were planning on hitting military targets with explosives, the Shin Bet said.

The leader of the cell, Basel Himouni, was released from Israeli custody as part of the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange in October, 2011. Himouni had been exiled to the Gaza Strip.
