Stranded students located in Red Canyon near Eilat

A group of 40 tourists from Russia, missing without water for hours, found by a local police rescue unit

A group of 40 students from Russia who got lost on Sunday during a trip to the Red Canyon near the city of Eilat were located by volunteers from the local police rescue unit on Tuesday evening.

The visitors, who had been stranded without water for hours in the Eilat sun, were reported to be alive and well.

The rescue unit was attempting to transfer the students from the canyon and back to safety.
