Two Palestinians were recently arrested in connection with separate knife attacks, police and the Shin Bet security service announced on Wednesday.
One of those arrested, Mustafa Barghouti of the West Bank village of Beit Rima, admitted to stabbing an Israeli citizen in February at the Tapuah Junction, also in the West Bank. The victim suffered moderate wounds in that incident.
The other detainee was Samer Matar, 28, who hails from the area around Hebron and is a member of Hamas. He admitted to stabbing and lightly wounding an Israeli in East Jerusalem in February. Matar had illegally entered the capital a few days before.
