4 people killed in separate suspected homicides within several hours
Shooting victims in Haredi city of Elad and northern Arab town of Kafr Yasif both said ‘known to police’; man also shot dead in Holon, woman fatally stabbed in Bedouin town
Two men were shot dead in separate suspected murders on Wednesday evening, as Israel wrapped up its Independence Day celebrations, while another two people were killed early Thursday.
According to police, a 25-year-old resident of Elad was shot dead in the central Haredi city. Police said they believe the incident was not terror-related.
The Ynet news site reported that the victim was “known to police.”
The man was brought in critical condition to Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva, where he was declared dead. Police said they had opened an investigation into the incident and were gathering evidence and hunting for the perpetrators.
A Magen David Adom medic said there was “a lot of commotion” when he arrived at the crime scene, and that the victim was lying unconscious in a courtyard between two buildings.
Last Independence Day, Palestinian terrorists killed three people in an axe attack in Elad as the holiday ended.
Later Wednesday, a man was fatally wounded in a shooting in the northern Arab town of Kafr Yasif. He was taken to Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said officers were searching for suspects and announced the launch of an investigation.
The victim in Kafr Yasif was similarly “known to police,” the Walla news site said.
Hours later, a man in his 40s was shot dead in the Tel Aviv suburb of Holon. Police said the incident was crime-related and that officers were looking into the matter.
Additionally, a woman was stabbed to death in the southern Bedouin town of Ar’ara BaNegev.
The Magen David Adom ambulance service said medics found the 33-year-old without any signs of life, declaring her dead at the scene.
