Boogy down with Balkan Beat Box
The Israeli electronic trio brings its funky approach to a new album
It’s “Part of the Glory,” the newest video and single from Balkan Beat Box’s fourth and latest album, “Give.”
These folksy, electronic spinmasters are offering another insightful look at Israeli society, as well as the global world, from the local social protests that rocked Israel last summer to the Occupy sit-ins that have been squatting worldwide.
In “Part of the Glory,” it’s all about Israel and its African refugees, the displaced, country-less people who are making Israel their home, particularly in south Tel Aviv, where the video was filmed.

She died more than four decades ago, but Leah Goldberg remains a magnetic and enigmatic figure: Israel’s most beloved poet, a powerful woman who lived with her mother and never married, who reinvented herself from the ashes of World War I through her magical writing.
