A young Israeli man was killed in Indonesia over the weekend while mountain climbing, the Foreign Ministry said on Saturday night.

The 19-year-old fell while climbing Mt. Rinjani, the ministry said. Rescue teams were working to retrieve the man’s body.

Israel does not have diplomatic relations with Muslim-majority Indonesia, somewhat complicating efforts to bring the man’s body back home.

The Foreign Ministry said Israel’s envoy in Singapore was following efforts to retrieve the body.
