12 more slain soldiers named

The Israel Defense Forces has named another 12 soldiers killed during fighting with Palestinian terrorists since October 7, mostly as they defended communities on the border with the Gaza Strip from a Hamas onslaught.

The names bring the toll of slain soldiers to 257.

They are:

Col. (res.) Lion Bar, 53, a senior officer in the Judea and Samaria division, from Gedera.

Cpt. (res.) Avraham Hananel Hindi, 37, a local security officer, from Kfar Aza.

Warrant Officer (res.) Avraham Fleischer, 63, a local security officer, from Magen.

First Sgt. Gil Avital, 56, a local security officer, from Yesha.

Master Sgt. (res.) Aviv Baram, 33, a local security officer, from Kfar Aza.

Staff Sgt. Itamar Ben Yehuda, 21, a Golani commander, from Rehovot.

Staff Sgt. Daniel Bezgodov, 22, a Nahal soldier, from Afula.

Staff Sgt. Aner Elkim Shapira, 22, a Nahal soldier, from Jerusalem.

Staff Sgt. Shlomo Rashtnikov, 20, a Golani soldier, from Haifa.

Sgt. Ori Carmi, 20, a Golani soldier, from Rishon Lezion.

Sgt. Benjamin Blai, 20, a driver in the Gaza Division, from Rehovot.

Cpl. Nahman Dekel, 20, a Nahal soldier, from Holon.
