1,841 people visit Temple Mount, 3 kicked off
Police say they removed three Jewish visitors from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem for “violating the rules for visiting” the holy site.
The police did not say what exactly the men did, but they likely prayed while visiting the Old City location.
Today, some 1,841 people went up to the Temple Mount, 1,481 of them foreign tourists.
In the Jewish tradition, Passover is one of three holidays marked by visiting the Temple. Though the Temple was destroyed nearly 2,000 years ago, some religious people still commemorate the holiday by visiting the mount where it once stood.
