AG says joint team from police, internal affairs will probe Meron disaster
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAttorney General Avichai Mandelblit says a joint investigative team from the Israel Police and the Justice Ministry’s Police Internal Investigations Department will lead the probe into the deadly crush at Lag B’Omer celebrations at Mount Meron, in which 45 people were killed.
In a statement, Mandelblit says the team will also be assisted by the State Attorney’s Office.
“It is difficult to overstate the severity of the disaster that occurred on Mount Meron and therefore everything must be done to strive to discover the truth through an effective and efficient investigation,” Mandelblit says
