Biden, tearing up, tells nation that Kabul attackers will be hunted down
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAn emotional US President Joe Biden is vowing to push ahead with the mission to evacuate America and allies from Afghanistan, while threatening those who carried out the deadly attack: “We will hunt you down.”
Biden pays tribute to the 12 US servicemembers killed, calling them heroes. He tears up as he recalls his son Beau, a veteran who dies of cancer after returning from war.
He also vows to take revenge on those who carried out the attack.
“We will not forgive. We will not forget. We will hunt you down and make you pay,” Biden says.
He ends his speech by quoting from the prophet Isiah, leading a moment of silence, and then begins to speak off the cuff about remaining steadfast.
