Cabinet approves minimum sentences for rock throwing
The cabinet unanimously approves a bill proposed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu establishing minimum prison sentences for throwing rocks, firebombs or fireworks in a way that endangers lives.
The bill also imposes fines on minors caught in such acts, and on their parents.
The government plans to push the bill through the Knesset in an expedited process.
“We are doing this as an emergency measure and will consider the extent of its implementation; if need be, we will make the law more severe,” says Netanyahu.
