Defence Minister Avigdor Liberman toured a large-scale IDF exercise in southern Israel today, hailing the quality of the army’s reservists and the sacrifices they made.
“I came away amazed by the quality of the battalion and brigade commanders, most of them reservists with families and key positions in high-tech and leading companies, who are prepared to leave everything at short notice and come and serve the country,” Liberman says.

“I was especially moved by the deputy battalion commander Rotem Lieberman — I checked and we are not related — who had his third child, Yair, two weeks ago, and Rotem has already been in reserve duty for 10 days, serving and leading his soldiers in the exercise,” Liberman says.
“The reservists are the true weapons of the IDF.”
