East Jerusalem man convicted for deadly October bus attack

An East Jerusalem terrorist who killed three people on a bus in the capital in October is convicted by Jerusalem District Court on thee counts of murder, seven counts of attempted murder and aiding the enemy in wartime.

The conviction comes after the court rejects a plea bargain struck between the prosecution and the defense after defendant Bilal Abu Ghanem refuses to stand up in court and admit carrying out the attack, Ynet reports.

Abu Ghanem is yet to be sentenced, although the prosecution is seeking three consecutive life sentences for the killings and another 70 years for the attempted murders.
