El Al preparing return to regular flight schedule after truce with Iran

Israel’s flag carrier El Al says it is gearing up to return to a regular schedule by gradually increasing flight frequencies from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport as wartime air traffic restrictions are lifted following the ceasefire that halted the joint US-Israel military campaign against Iran.

The announcement comes after the Transportation Ministry confirms that Israel will fully reopen the country’s airspace and resume regular operations at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport starting at midnight tonight. The country’s airspace has been shut to most commercial traffic since February 28, when Israel and the US launched a major joint military strike on Iran.

From midnight tonight, El Al will operate departing flights at full passenger capacity without any of the restrictions that were in place during the war with Iran, the airline says.

Starting next week, El Al plans to operate flights in a full-aircraft format to about 30 destinations. List of flight destinations next week includes Athens, Amsterdam, Barcelona, ​​Paris, Berlin, Budapest, Batumi, Tbilisi, Rome, Frankfurt, Munich, Larnaca, Lisbon, Madrid, Moscow, Milan, Bucharest, Prague, Vienna, Warsaw, Zurich, and London. Long-haul destinations include Bangkok, Phuket, Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, and Miami.
