The government approves a proposal by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to establish a task force aimed at accelerating civilian protection measures in northern communities, the Prime Minister’s Office announces.
The team, which is led by the Prime Minister’s Office and includes representatives from the Defense Ministry, Finance Ministry, Construction and Housing Ministry, Home Front Command and National Security Council, will be tasked with drafting a detailed, budgeted plan within 21 days to expand protective infrastructure across the north.
The plan will assess existing protection measures, propose multiyear funding, examine the integration of earthquake reinforcement, and outline immediate solutions for public protection as well as steps to remove bureaucratic obstacles.
The move comes after northern communities were pummeled by weeks of Hezbollah rocket and drone fire before a fragile ceasefire took effect earlier this month.
