Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese invites President Isaac Herzog to visit Australia and its Jewish community, says the President’s Residence.

Herzog tells Albanese that he will accept the invitation.

During the call, initiated by Albanese, the Australian premier expresses “his profound shock and dismay” over the deadly shooting attack at a Hanukkah event in Sydney last week, and conveys his “deep sorrow to the families of the victims,” according to Herzog’s office.

Herzog underscores “the importance of taking all legal measures to combat the unprecedented rise in antisemitism, extremism, and jihadist terror.”
