Hundreds of Palestinians march in support of Jerusalem attack terrorist

Hundreds of Palestinians march in Jerusalem’s Shuafat Refugee Camp to honor a Hamas terrorist who shot and killed an Israeli and wounded four others in Jerusalem’s Old City this morning.

The gunman, Fadi Abu Shkhaydam, was a senior leader in Hamas’s network in the refugee camp. The neighborhood lies within the boundaries of the Jerusalem municipality, but beyond the security fence. Few public services are available there, and lawlessness abounds.

Abu Shkhaydam was killed by police officers on the scene, but not before he managed to kill South African immigrant Eliyahu David Kay and seriously wound another Israeli, yeshiva student Aharon Yehuda Immergreen. Three other Israelis were treated for moderate to light wounds following the incident.

The Palestinians proceed towards Abu Shkhaydam’s house, chanting: “Millions of martyrs will march to Jerusalem.” Many wave green flags, emblazoned with the Islamic credo of faith, that are often associated with Hamas.

“Put sword next to sword,” Shuafat camp residents chant, a reference to Hamas’s logo, which features crossed blades. “We’re [Hamas terror chief] Mohammad Deif’s men.”
