Hundreds protest in Tel Aviv over housing prices
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHundreds of people protest in Rabin Square in Tel Aviv over the high price of housing in Israel, which shows no signs of falling.
The protesters call for a revolt by consumers, and urge young couples not to purchase apartments, thereby forcing the state to act to bring down house prices.
The government report shows house prices in Israel rose in the second quarter of 2016. The average price for a four-room apartment in Tel Aviv is now NIS 3.09 million, up by 13 percent from 2015.
