In a joint statement, the IDF and the Shin Bet say counter-terrorism forces have killed the Palestinian gunman who shot and wounded an IDF reservist yesterday.
The raid took place in the village of Tell, near Nablus, where Yamam fighters shot dead the assailant after he opened fire at them with a long rifle. The military claims the man was “active in the Palestinian police.”
Givati Brigade troops also arrested another suspect who surrendered at the scene, identified as a fellow member of the Palestinian Authority police.
In separate operations in Burqin, Duvdevan commando unit fighters arrested a gunman who had fired at Israeli forces, while Yamam troops detained an additional suspect in the Fara’a camp.
All detainees have been handed over to the Shin Bet for questioning, the military says, adding that no Israeli forces were wounded in the operations.
