An Israeli soldier lightly wounded this morning by grenade shrapnel during a major operation in the West Bank city of Jenin has returned to the field after being released from a hospital.

The Israel Defense Forces says First Sgt. “Ayin,” from the elite Duvdevan unit — who can only be identified by his rank and initial of his first name in Hebrew — “insisted” on returning to his unit after being treated.

He was hit by shrapnel from a grenade thrown by other IDF troops.

The IDF says he returned to the northern West Bank area a short while ago to continue the efforts to “foil terror in the Jenin refugee camp.”
