Israel praises return of Iran sanctions as ‘major development’

Nava Freiberg is The Times of Israel's deputy diplomatic correspondent.

Israel hails today’s reimposition of United Nations so-called snapback sanctions against Iran as a “major development,” the Foreign Ministry says in a statement.

“This is a major development in response to Iran’s ongoing violations, especially on its military nuclear program,” writes the ministry on X.

“The goal is clear: prevent a nuclear-armed Iran. The world must use every tool to achieve this goal,” it adds.
