Justice minister backs decision to close Umm al-Hiran case against officers
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleJustice Minister Ayelet Shaked backs the decision by State Attorney Shai Nitzan to close the case into officers who shot dead a Bedouin man in January 2017 after the man, possibly accidentally after being shot in the leg by a police officer, killed an officer by ramming his car into him.
“I support the state attorney’s decision. I know firsthand the meticulous work that went into the [investigation], both in the Police Internal Affairs Department and at the State Attorney’s Office,” Shaked says in a statement.
