Defense Minister Israel Katz says the IDF’s effort to demolish Hamas’s tunnels on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line in the Gaza Strip is “progressing well.”
“I was just updated by the deputy chief of staff that the operation to destroy Hamas’s terror tunnels in Gaza is progressing well. The IDF is working to destroy the tunnels through explosions, or by filling and pumping liquid concrete into the tunnels in all areas under its control,” Katz says in a statement.
Last month, Katz and the IDF said that around 60% of Hamas’s tunnels in Gaza were still intact.
Katz adds that a “multinational force led by the United States is supposed to handle the demilitarization and disarmament of Hamas in old Gaza,” referring to the Hamas-held areas of the Strip.
