Lawyer for Duma suspect compares Shin Bet to Inquisition
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe lawyer for Amiram Ben-Uliel, the chief suspect in the firebomb attack last summer that killed three members of a Palestinian family, accuses the Shin Bet of torturing his client by “stretching his limbs like in the [Spanish] Inquisition.”
“The Jewish section of the Shin Bet is a torture factory” for its suspects, the lawyer tells a press conference, according to the Maariv daily.
Ben-Uliel is accused of deliberately starting the fire — which killed Saad Dawabsha, his wife Riham and their 18-month-old baby Ali — as the family slept in their home in the West Bank village of Duma.
