Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman blames the Netanyahu government for the violence in Jerusalem, rocket fire in the south and the Meron disaster earlier this month.
“On this holiday [Jerusalem Day] the Netanyahu government has brought us into a situation of conflagration,” Liberman says at a weekly faction meeting in the Knesset. “In the south, Jerusalem, and also [with the deadly crush] on Mount Meron — this is his legacy. If he cares for Israel or Likud, he would have recognized that he’s the obstacle [to a government] and stepped aside.”
Liberman says he is doing his utmost for the government of the so-called “change bloc” to be formed.
He says the government will be open to the ultra-Orthodox parties joining at any time, provided they accept its positions on IDF enlistment, kosher food and conversion — positions the Haredi parties won’t bend on.
