Netanyahu could make Liberman defense minister — report

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is considering replacing Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon with Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman, Channel 2 reports.

The move would likely be a central demand for bringing Liberman and his party into the coalition, after Netanyahu courted him earlier today.

Ya’alon, a Likud apparatchik who is reportedly butting heads with Netanyahu over the army’s behavior, would be moved over to the foreign minister post, according to the report.

Earlier in the day, Liberman rejected Netanyahu urging him to join the coalition, dismissing it as a spin.
