On tunnel, prime minister warns: ‘Whoever hurts us, we hurt them’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel has begun using “breakthrough technology” to locate cross-border tunnels.
“We are implementing [the technology]. Today, we located a tunnel and we destroyed it,” says Netanyahu at the start of the weekly Likud faction meeting.
The prime minister says Israel holds Hamas responsible for all military action against Israel emanating from the Gaza Strip and “whoever hurts us, we hurt them.”
Netanyahu also praises coalition chairman David Bitan for his handling of coalition matters, despite unstated disagreements. The praise — which is met with applause — comes a day after Netanyahu announced he was not interested in advancing a bill for immunity that would apply to ongoing investigations into his affairs — even as Bitan threatened to topple the coalition if the proposed legislation did not advance.
