Palestinian youth shot dead north of Jerusalem; circumstances unclear
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleA Palestinian youth is reported to have been shot by Israeli security forces in an area north of Jerusalem, but the circumstances of the incident are unclear.
According to AFP which cites a Palestinian security source, the Palestinian was shot by an Israeli civilian after having thrown stones at his car between Ar-Ram and the Hizma checkpoint near Ramallah in the West Bank..
The Palestinian security source named the fatality as Mahmud Shawamreh, 21, of Ar-Ram.
Asked for comment, a spokeswoman for the IDF told AFP: “The incident in which the Palestinian was killed during a violent riot near Ramallah is being investigated by the military police.”
