Police suspect fire bomb caused Jerusalem blaze

Police investigators suspect that a fire in Jerusalem’s First Station Compound may have broken out after a Molotov Cocktail was deliberately hurled at the site.

The blaze caused serious damage to the compound, one of the capital’s most prominent recreational sites, and thousands of visitors were evacuated by police. Three vehicles were damaged in the fire as well, but no injuries were reported.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and managed after a short while to put out the flames.

Police are still investigating the cause of the fire. Initial reports stated that the blaze broke out due to faulty infrastructure, but now police believe the ignition was intentional.
