Qatar says Iranian attacks injured around 20, targeted airport and energy infrastructure

Around 20 people have been injured by Iranian attacks on Qatar since the Islamic Republic began striking countries in the region amid the US-Israeli bombing campaign, the Qatari foreign ministry spokesman tells CNN, adding that such attacks will not remain unanswered.

The injuries are “mostly minor,” and Qatar has “been able to thwart most of these attacks,” which caused “very minimal damage,” Majed Al Ansari tells the network. He adds that over 100 missiles and “scores” of drones have been launched at the country, targeting “not only US forces” but also commercial, civilian and military infrastructure, including its international airport.

Al Ansari adds that Qatar is not engaging with Iran at the moment.

Qatar’s defense ministry says that it was recently attacked by two drones launched from Iran, one targeting a water tank at a power plant in Mesaieed and another targeting an energy facility in Ras Laffan Industrial City, with no reports of casualties.
