Trump says ‘ridiculous’ for US to maintain current support for NATO

US President Donald Trump says it is “ridiculous” for the United States to continue its “one-sided” relationship to NATO, less than a week before the transatlantic alliance’s summit in Ankara.
Trump writes on his Truth Social platform, “Ridiculous for the U.S.A. to continue along this one sided path when the relationship is not reciprocal. They were not there for us!!!”
Trump has repeatedly lashed out at European allies over their response to the war in Iran, and has repeatedly questioned US funding for NATO.
The post includes a graph showing that the US contributes far more to the alliance than any other country.
