US Jewish groups and AIPAC applaud Trump’s Gaza plan

Jewish groups in the US have come together in support of the plan announced by US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the war in Gaza, with virtually wall-to-wall approval from major organizations.

Jewish Federations welcomes the deal, saying its community has “lived with the pain” of watching Israel under attack and knowing hostages are suffering in captivity, while the rise of anti-Jewish hatred has led to horrific incidents of violence around the world.

“We hope and pray that this deal will come to fruition and bring the remaining hostages home to their families,” the organization says.

The Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations says the proposal “offers a credible path forward and the prospect of a new reality in Gaza and the broader Middle East.”

“Israel’s soldiers made this moment of hope possible,” say chairwoman Betsy Berns Korn and CEO William Daroff in a statement. “Now the international community must hold Hamas to account, sustain pressure, and enforce compliance.”

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) thanks Trump and United States Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff for negotiating the plan, noting it has the wide support of the United States, Israel and several Arab countries.

“This plan is a direct byproduct of the tremendous progress of Israel’s military operation in Gaza to degrade Hamas’ capabilities,” AIPAC posts on X.

“Congressional support for our democratic ally has been instrumental throughout this war, including by passing the largest military aid package in Israel’s history, and we applaud the Democrats and Republicans who have been consistent and unequivocal in their demands for Hamas to free the hostages and give up power in Gaza.”

Ronald Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress, calls the deal a “turning point” and “a moment of historic consequence.”

“After months of unimaginable suffering, the world must unite behind this plan,” Launder writes on X. “The future of the region—and the chance for Israelis and Palestinians alike to live in peace and dignity—depends on it.”
