A man was shot dead early Monday morning in the central city of Rishon Lezion in a suspected criminal underworld slaying, police said.
The victim, 22, was in an apartment on Hankin Street when assailants burst in and shot him. His partner, who was in the same room, was not injured.

The Ynet news site reported that police sealed off the building to carry out forensic examinations and only permitted residents to leave their homes some two hours later.
It was the third killing in Rishon Lezion since the beginning of the year, although it was not immediately clear if they were all connected.
