Modiin couple found dead in suspected murder-suicide

Bodies of husband and wife found alongside gun in their apartment; neighbors describe them as ‘normal, positive people’

A couple was discovered dead in a Modiin apartment on Friday in a suspected murder-suicide.

Police said the bodies of a 70-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were discovered in their apartment on Kislev Street alongside a gun.

The couple’s children called police to force their way into the apartment after they could not reach be reached on the phone and did not answer the door for neighbors.

According to reports, the husband worked as a security guard, and had access to a gun. The wife reportedly worked as a kindergarten assistant. Walla news reported that social workers were familiar with the family.

The couple’s neighbor, Dudu, described them to Walla as a “normal couple… they were positive people, they used to say hi. They were very nice and quiet neighbors.”
