One dead, another seriously hurt, after car explodes in apparent criminal hit
Vehicle bursts into flames between central cities of Kfar Saba, Hod Hasharon; man in 30’s sustains serious burns

One man was killed and another seriously injured on Tuesday when the car in which they were traveling apparently exploded at the Elishema junction between Kfar Saba and Hod Hasharon in central Israel.
Police said the background to the incident was criminal.
The north-south Route 40 was temporarily closed to traffic and drivers were asked to use alternative roads.
Zaki Heller, a spokesman for the Magen David Adom emergency service said, “The vehicle apparently burst into flames after exploding.”
Four people were involved, he added. One was killed in the blast. Another — a man in his 30’s — suffered serious injuries from burns and the force of the explosion, and was sedated and connected to a respirator. A further two people sustained light injuries.
“Paramedics are giving first aid on site and transferring the casualties to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva,” Heller added.
