Several months after he had a pacemaker fitted, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in a “completely normal state of health,” according to an annual medical report by the premier’s medical team, published by the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday.

The report said that the prime minister is under routine surveillance for his health, and that he maintains a healthy lifestyle.

A letter from Prof. Roy Beinart, director of the Sheba Medical Center’s cardiac arrhythmia center, stated that since Netanyahu’s pacemaker was implanted in July, there has been no evidence of arrhythmia or any other conditions.

The premier underwent a “routine follow-up” in October, the letter stated, without specifying the date. During that examination, it was found that the pacemaker was working correctly, Beinart wrote.

Netanyahu is “completely stable” with regards to cardiac activity and does not require any further treatment aside from the same routine monitoring provided to all patients who have a pacemaker, the report stated.

Netanyahu had a pacemaker fitted earlier this year, a week after he was hospitalized and had a heart monitoring device implanted. Doctors later revealed that Netanyahu’s heart monitor indicated that he had a “transient heart block,” necessitating the pacemaker.

At the time, questions swirled over the 74-year-old premier’s health and whether the severity of the situation had been obscured from the public.

Around 24 hours after the pacemaker was fitted, Netanyahu was released and headed to the Knesset for a vote on a key element of his government’s controversial judicial overhaul.

In the wake of the pacemaker implantation, Netanyahu canceled his overseas travel for a period of a month, before flying to Cyprus in early September and then to New York to address the UN General Assembly. He has not made any public trips since the start of the war against Hamas on October 7.
