The Central Elections Committee fined the Shas party NIS 37,000 on Monday for distributing amulets and blessings as part of its elections propaganda.
Committee chairman Elyakim Rubinstein criticized the ultra-Orthodox party for what he called “a glaring infraction” of the injunction against using blessings and religious items in political campaigns.
