Border police troops shot at two men who attempted to cross the Egyptian border on Thursday, killing one and injuring another, the IDF Spokesman’s Office said Friday.
The two were reportedly residents of Gaza and the military is investigating whether they were involved in terrorist activity or a smuggling operation.
The injured man was airlifted to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, in moderate condition.
Last month Gaza terrorists killed an Israeli defense ministry employee on his way to work on the border fence construction project.
