JERUSALEM (AP) — IDF soldiers unleashed a dog at a Palestinian protester, and an Israeli activist said soldiers fired a rubber bullet at an Israeli protester, injuring them both lightly in two separate incidents in the West Bank on Friday.
An AP photographer witnessed the dog chasing down the Palestinian protester, grabbing him by the arm and dragging him to the ground.
A military official said soldiers released the dog after the protester hurled rocks at them. The man was treated on the scene by army medics, and arrested along with another protester. The official spoke anonymously according to army regulations.
The incident took place in Kufr Qaddum in the northern West Bank. Protesters were marking the anniversary of the death of Rachel Corrie, an American protester run over by an Israeli bulldozer in 2003, said Jonathan Pollak, a pro-Palestinian Israeli activist.

In a separate incident Friday, an Israeli woman was protesting against Israeli policies alongside Palestinians in the West Bank when soldiers fired a rubber bullet which hit her head, Pollak said.

She was evacuated to a Palestinian hospital where she was treated for light injuries, said hospital director Ahmad Bitawy. The military had no immediate comment.
