Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas will travel to Cairo next week to meet with Egypt’s newly elected leader Mohammed Morsi, Maan news reported Friday.
According to the report, Abbas will fly to Cairo next Friday and the two will discuss regional issues, including the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
Abbas will be the second world leader to meet with Morsi since the latter’s election last month. Morsi met with Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah II in Jedda, on Wednesday.
Abbas met with the Saudi king, among other matters, in an effort to raise funds for the Palestinian Authority’s ailing treasury.
