A stabbing attack was thwarted on Tuesday outside an IDF base in the West Bank.
On Tuesday afternoon, a Palestinian man was spotted walking towards the gate of the base, located near the settlement of Beit El, while holding a knife and a Palestinian flag.
He was said to have been shouting “Allahu akbar,” the Islamic exclamation meaning “God is great.”
While the phrase is commonly used by Muslims as an expression of faith, it can also be used as a battle cry.
The man was stopped and arrested by security forces, and was being questioned on Tuesday night.
