Tractor kills man on Bat Yam beach

In separate incident, 80-year-old on scooter dies after being hit by car

Two men died in Bat Yam in separate motor vehicle accidents Tuesday morning.

A 50-year-old man was struck by a tractor on the city’s Colony Beach. Despite efforts by Magen David Adom paramedics to save his life, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police launched an investigation into the incident.

“The man was lying on the beach when the tractor drove by. [The driver] didn’t see him and hit him,” a medic told Channel 10. “Other medics and I tried to save his life but unfortunately after prolonged resuscitation attempts we pronounced him dead.”

Earlier in the day an 80-year-old man was struck by a car while riding a scooter on Raziel Street. He was taken to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon in critical condition and died shortly thereafter.

Police were investigating the driver of the car.
