Two children suffered moderate to severe injuries after being scalded by boiling water in Jerusalem.
The siblings, a three-year-old boy and eight-year-old girl, were rushed to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem by Magen David Adom after emergency services were contacted Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m., according to a Ynet report.
Paramedics attempted to treat the three-year-old suffering from second to third-degree burns on his head, chest and abdomen, and his eight-year-old sister who was burned on the back and hip. The two suffered burns on 30 and 20 percent of their bodies, respectively.
The family told authorities that the eight-year-old climbed on a kitchen counter and accidentally knocked over a kettle which spilled over on the girl and her younger brother sitting on the floor below.
“The two children were fully conscious. They were crying and were in a lot of pain,” members of the family said.
