10-year-old girl run over and killed in central Israel
Police say they have begun investigating deadly incident in Kiryat Ono; there has been an upward trend in traffic-related deaths in 2024

A 10-year-old girl was killed after being run over by a car in central Israel, Hebrew media reported Saturday.
According to Ynet, the girl was hit as a pedestrian on Yirmiyahu Street in Kiryat Ono.
Magen David Adom medical personnel evacuated the girl by ambulance while she was in critical condition, but hospital staff declared her dead.
Police said they have opened an investigation into the incident.
As of Saturday morning, a total of 286 people had been killed in traffic accidents in 2024 so far, according to a daily report released by the Traffic Safety Authority.
At this time in 2023, 246 people had been killed in traffic accidents, marking a 16-percent increase in deadly incidents over last year.
