Police on Saturday announced the opening of an investigation after an armed convoy was filmed speeding through the streets of a southern Bedouin town in broad daylight, as passengers fired automatic weapons into the air.

Footage of the incident in Shaqib al-Salam, also known as Segev Shalom, was aired by Israeli television, leading police to announce the probe.

The video, like similar ones filmed before in Bedouin towns in southern Israel, was uploaded to the TikTok video-sharing social networking service.

It wasn’t clear when the incident took place.

Later Saturday, four suspects were arrested in connection to the incident, according to Channel 12 news.

Last month, police announced the establishment of a special unit in the Southern District tasked with probing violent videos uploaded to TikTok.
