An IDF officer was lightly wounded during a clash with some 200 local Palestinian protesters at the Deheishe refugee camp near Bethlehem early Friday.

The officer was hit by a rock thrown at him after an overnight arrest operation was met by rioters at the camp.

The soldiers succeeded in arresting the suspect who was the target of the operation, the IDF said.

The protesters also threw Molotov cocktails and shot off fireworks toward the troops, who responded with riot dispersal methods.

The officer was taken to hospital.
