An Israeli teenager has been reported missing in Istanbul, Turkey while on a trip with family members.

Ahmed al-Assam, 19, from Tel Sheva, a Bedouin community in southern Israel, has not been heard from since Wednesday, according to reports, when he left the hotel room he was staying in with relatives and did not return.

His father, who arrived in Turkey this week to help with the search, turned to Turkish authorities for help.

The Israeli consulate in Istanbul is in touch with the family and with Turkish authorities, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.
