Jerusalem Post taps top adviser to education minister as editor-in-chief

Yaakov Katz, aide to Naftali Bennett and former military reporter, to take over from Steve Linde, who helmed English-language daily for five years

The Jerusalem Post announced it has named Yaakov Katz, a senior policy adviser to Israel’s Education Minister Naftali Bennett, as its editor-in-chief, with Steve Linde stepping down.

Katz, 36, will take over the job starting next month, the newspaper said Wednesday.

Linde stepped down after serving in the position for five years and at the newspaper for 20 years, according to the Post.

It said Linde “plans to continue working with his Post colleagues in the future.”

He also serves as a faculty member at Harvard’s Extension school, where he lectures on journalism and media.

He also was a fellow at Harvard’s Neiman Foundation for Journalism.

“It is an honor and privilege to replace the amazing @stevelinde and head @Jerusalem_Post, a pillar of journalistic integrity & distinction,” Katz tweeted Wednesday morning.
